"Spiritual materialism", zeitgeist of the 20th century.

For the descending arc of evolution, materialism has necessarily been the dominant trend. It has produced important developments in philosophy, science, religious expression, and technology throughout history, reaching a culmination point in the 19th century. 

The heliocentric model

Since then, all cultural developments should have then been spiritual; those that are not — the vast majority — have gone against the evolutionary current.

The culmination of the materialistic world view lies in the middle or in the last third of the nineteenth century. [1]

The time when human progress was made possible through the constant refinement of the physical forces is already over. In the future, too, humankind will progress, but only through spiritual development, through development on a higher level than that of the processes of the physical plane. [2]

The common denominator of many of the “visionary” movements and ideologies that have appeared within the 20th and 21st centuries, has been that they sought to accomplish a spiritual aim, but through material means, owing to the retrogressive action of materialism. 

Islam and the Christian West

The divide between the Christian and Islamic world has always been complex to navigate. Islam is a religion that appears so austere and so severe to many, especially in the Christian West; it is not immediately obvious what purpose this serves.

From an esoteric and historical lens, there are threads linking the two religions. The work of Master Jesus has been present across many world religions, notably Christianity, but also Islam.

The Mahommedan faith will be found to be linked to the Christian faith because it embodies the work of the Master Jesus as He overshadowed one of His senior disciples, a very advanced initiate, Mahomet. [1]

Master Jesus

There has always been an intrinsic relationship of checks and balances between Islam and Christianity. The centuries of conflict between them can be described in summary as: the Father aspect of the Trinity is more pronounced in Islam, whereas the Son aspect is more pronounced in Christianity.

What we see in a holy war, is the accentuation of these two counterpoles. I have described the Islamic impulse further here.

Geopolitics in the spiritual age

By the future sixth epoch, the spiritual world will be much more visible, which necessitates that humanity move past any belief systems based on materialism alone, whether on an individual or state level. 

Our fifth epoch will be followed by another, the sixth. This sixth epoch will see the development of brotherhood among men, clairvoyance and creative power. [1]

A futile agenda in the East

The push for regime change in Iran to bring about secularization, or by subverting the integrity of the Iranian state in an attempt to balkanize the region into smaller ethnic states, indicates motives contrary to the evolutionary current. 

It is not a matter of being "pro theocracy"; Secularism as we know it will soon become obsolete, simply because the spiritual will become an active and visible principle in human existence. However, the complete personal freedom conceived of in Western society may also be challenged in this way.

This significant change will be heralded by a geopolitical shift of power from the West to the East, hence why it has never been possible to export Western liberalism there— it would impede the future development and tasks of people in this region. 

The Iran war: a divide in Western occultism (updated)

The role occultism has played within the technocratic movement is obvious to many people, with the rise of artificial intelligence being seen as the product of occult forces.

However, these forces have worked through previous movements over the past century to accomplish altogether different aims, resulting in a war which is now in opposition to their present efforts.

The shift in American conservatism

The American Neoconservative movement was once very prominent, reaching its apex in the 1990s and 2000s, with its pundits advocating for "American world leadership" and foreign intervention, utilizing state propaganda and censorship of opposition to achieve their goals. 

PNAC: Project for the New American Century was a neoconservative think tank based in Washington D.C., that was highly influential in US foreign policy and a key proponent of the Iraq war.

Since then, there has been a significant shift away from interventionist foreign policy in the conservative movement, and more towards populism. 

Alongside the rise in populism in the West, there was also a parallel rise in the integration of the Internet and social media into every area of life, cryptocurrencies, and the introduction of less overt means of control, such as algorithms.

The technocracy movement remained as an undercurrent throughout the 20th century, only becoming evident in the past decade and announcing its objective for a completely digitized society, such as cashless payments and an internet-of-things.

Unlike Neoconservatism, it is a trans-national movement that can integrate itself into different political environments and parties, such as the populist current in the West. Some forms of technocracy have already been achieved in the East, like the digital surveillance systems in China.

Our Atlantean ancestors

A distant civilization, millions of years ago, evokes an inexplicable sense of remembrance for many people. Much of what we experience today is a re-telling of the story of Atlantis. 

Today I want to share the interesting connection between the abilities of the Atlanteans, and what is supposed to emerge as a new human faculty in the present and near-future.
